• Macmillan cake sale

  Thank you to all who purchased cakes last Friday! We raised £180! Thank you to all staff who donated the cakes and a big thank you to Mrs Fellowes for organising the cake sale.

  Thank you to the family of Mrs. Oldbury who donated a large amount of toys and playground equipment for all the children. The family and friends of Mrs. Oldbury had a collection at her funeral to buy the toys as Mrs. Oldbury would have wanted the children to have fun in memory of her. Thank you and you can see a picture of the toys on the school newsletter. 

• Yr5/6 Greek Day

  Ancient Greek Day

   

  The year 5/6 children had a wonderful day on Wednesday 28th September 2016 when Timezone came in. 
  
  The children got a chance to learn about some of the city states and have a debate over whether Sparta or Athens was going to lead us all in to battle against the Persians. After a heated debate, it was decided that Athens should lead us, as they would be able to come up with the best strategy to win. 
  
  Later the children got a chance to learn how to play some Greek games and learn about what it was like to learn how to write Using Greek letters and numbers.

  The children all had an enjoyable day and were commented on how fantastic they had been by Timezone.

   

  

• Burntwood in Bloom Winners!

  Congratulations need to go to Mrs Holloway and her team of gardeners for winning first prize in Burntwood in Bloom. The prize winning planter, celebrating the Queens 90th birthday, can still be seen at the front of school.

• Parent Pay Dinner Money

  On the advise of Parent Pay, from Monday 3rd October, the minimum payment for school dinners will be £10. Thank you for your continued support.

• Friends of Holly Grove

  Monday 19th September 6pm the Annual General Meeting for the Friends of Holly Grove. Everyone is welcome! Please come along and support our school. We will be looking at ways to raise money to support projects within the school. In the past we have raised money for the Adventure playground, trips, resources, playground equipment, books, teddies for the reception starters, parties for Christmas, end of year lunch for Yr 6 leavers and so, so much more! Whatever help you can offer, no matter how small can make a difference. Please come along and join us! Making a difference for all our children.

   

• Forest Schools

  Forest Schools starts on Thursday 15th September as part of our Enrichment afternoons. The first group this year is Lemurs. Your child would have been given a consent form which needs to be completed before they can take part in Forest School activities. Please also make sure they bring outdoor clothes to change into including  outdoor footwear.  See the Forest School page for a consent form.

• Holly Tots Toddlers!

  Holly Tots Toddlers - Starts again Monday 12th September!  We have a new time of 2pm - 3.15pm and we are now based in the nursery instead of the school hall. Only £2 per adult with a child, 50p for additional children and adults. This includes a drink and a snack. Entrance through the Nursery gate!

  First Week Of Holly Berries Before and After School Club! We are open from 7.30am, breakfast is included in the price! We are open until 6pm after school. Booking is preferred but you can turn up on the morning for breakfast club from 8.30am. See our page for more details. 

  

• First Day back

  Great first day, lots of new Reception children and Nursery, all settled in well!
