Early Years Foundation Stage
Pupils in our Nursery and Recepton class follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Currciulum. The curriculum is play based and involves children self selecting activities, whole class activities and small adult led activities, led by the teachers and support staff. Adults carefully observe the children and plan progress for each of them, by intervening in play and also planning targeted teaching to move learning forward.
Children's learning is based on their own interests and projects are developed aroung these. Key themes in the ELG (Early Learning Goals) are addressed in provision areas and focus activities throughout the year depending on the project.
