Years 1 - 6 Primary Curriculum

English and Mathematics lesson take place each morning with science and the foundation subjects (history, geography, computing, religious education, physical education, art, modern foreign languages and design and technology) taking place in the afternoon. Opportunities to promote Literacy and Numeracy throughout the curriculum are exploited, as well as cross curricular links. Phonics is taught separately in years 1 and 2 in the afternoon. Click on the curriculum jigsaws below to see an overview for each double year group. Click on the long term plans to see how the curriculum is taught each term. For further information, look out for the topic plans on the class pages.

Assessment

Nationally, assessment using levels has now stopped. Learning without levels has generated age related expectations that children within a particular year group are expected to reach. We will now assess a child as Working Towards the Expected Standard(WT), Working at the Expected Standard (Ex) or Greater Depth (GD) in areas of the curriculum for their ability and age.

For further clarification of how we will assess pupils, please click below to read our parents guide to 'Assessment without levels'.
