Biography:
I am chair of governors at Holly Grove Primary school. As a local community member and a child who attended early education at Holly Grove, I have strong links with Holly Grove Primary School and this is why it was important for me to choose Holly Grove as a school for my daughter and also why I have dedicated my time to the role of Governor at Holly Grove.
I completed Teacher Training as a graduate from Wolverhampton university (2008) as B Ed (Hons) QTS which helped to secure my teaching position within Key Stage 1 in Birmingham. This position later became Key Stage 1 and 2 co-ordinator. I currently work as an Inclusion Manager and SENDCo (following completion of the National SENDCo award, again through University of Wolverhampton).
In addition to my teaching and in school roles, I have worked for Staffordshire children's services (within Family Assessment, Safeguarding and currently the Edge of Care Service) and I use skills from both positions within my day to day work, life and within my role as a Governor.
I look forward to working with the fellow Governors, Staff, Parents and Pupils to achieve the best we can for our children.

I have 2 children currently at Holly Grove: Stanley in Year 4 and Rosie in Year 2. Having attended Holly Grove as a pupil myself (many, many years ago), I am passionate about supporting and helping the school to be the very best it can be. I firmly believe that the teachers and parents all want the same thing at Holly Grove: for our children to be happy and to provide an education which ensures all pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
I currently work at a school in Walsall and have experience of teaching all ages, from Nursery to Year 6. I am also a trained writing moderator and support schools across the borough to ensure their writing standards are consistent. With this background in Education, and knowledge of a variety of schools, I would hope that I can bring many new ideas to the Governor meetings at Holly Grove to further support the school in moving forwards.
