Beacon Park 2010
Year one went on a trip to Beacon Park to look for signs of autumn. We had a fantastic time walking around the park and collecting leaves, conkers, acorns, and sweet chestnuts. We also had fun playing in the park.
When we got back to school we did observational drawings of the leaves we collected and used water colour pencils to colour them in. All the children behaved very well. Thank you to all the parent helpers who came with us on the trip.

Internet Safety
We take children’s safety very seriously at Holly Grove and Holly Tots.
We recognise that with the increasing use of modern communication technology many adults are concerned with the threats which children may encounter when online and using mobile phones. You may wish to follow the links to the recommended e-safety sites which may be found under the "Internet Safety" link on left of this page.

Thank you
In the final week of the Autumn Term we were very pleased to welcome James Hodson, Maxine Estevez,
Mr Deakin, Dominic and Neil from Midland Expressway (M6 Toll) who very kindly presented us with a cheque
for £500. The money was “bid for” by Mr Deakin, as his wife has been involved with
Cookery Club as well as working throughout the school. The money from the M6 Toll will be used to provide
support for Cookery Club in addition it will be used to buy some new Guided Reading books as well as some
new seating for our playgrounds.
Thank you very much Midland Expressway for a great end to 2009.
Asthma UK - School Charity
Children throughout Holly Grove Primary school took part in a mini-marathon at the end of the summer term to raise money for our school charity of Asthma UK. Children came in something different/funny/fancy dress to wear as they do their part of the marathon. The response has been fantastic and we have raised well over £2,360.29! This is the most that Holly Grove has raised for a sponsored event - WOW! The cheque was collected by a representative from Asthma UK and will go towards research into Asthma and to help educate people about asthma and how to live with it.
