Year 3/4 Art: Stone Age Cave Paintings

This week in Art, our Year 3/4 pupils travelled back in time to the Stone Age — creatively, of course! Inspired by ancient cave paintings, the children used chalk and pastels to create their own versions of prehistoric artwork.

They explored how early humans might have expressed themselves through images of animals, hunting scenes, and symbols, experimenting with texture and colour to recreate the look of cave walls. The children were fully engaged, and their finished pieces were full of imagination and character.

It was a brilliant way to combine history and art, and the pupils should be proud of their expressive and thoughtful work. Well done, Year 3/4!
