This week in Nursery, the children had a super exciting Little Wandle phonics session as we explored our new sound of the week: M!

We opened our mysterious phonics bag and discovered that every item inside started with the same sound… M! The children loved exploring the objects and guessing what the sound might be.

We practised making the sound together by putting our lips tightly together and saying a long, gentle “mmmmm” — just like when we taste something delicious!

Our new picture card was revealed too, and this week it was… a mouse! The children were brilliant at spotting the initial sound and joining in with the actions.

Well done, Nursery — you are becoming super Little Wandle phonics champions already!
