Jubilee Fest on 12th July at EDA

  24th June 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to you to send out an invitation to all our children and families of our school to join the event at Erasmus Darwin Academy at the end of the Summer Term to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: Jubilee Fest. This is an Arts and Culture Festival celebrating contributions to the arts from all the schools associated with Primitas Learning Partnership. It is going to be one of the biggest events EDA has ever staged and it promises to be a memorable occasion.

Date: Tuesday 12th July Times: 16:30-18:30 for Primary schools
Venue: Erasmus Darwin Academy

The gates will open to the public at 16:30 and it is an event where people are welcome to come and go as they please. As part of the festival experience, there will be plenty of space on the school field for families to sit and enjoy the performances on the main stage! Families can bring a picnic blanket and they can bring their own refreshments. However, take-away refreshments will be available throughout the evening from Café Erasmus, the Vincent Van Scoff catering trailer, stalls run by our pupils and a local ice-cream van. Refreshments will include burgers, hot dogs, nachos, strawberries & cream, ice-cream, various soft drinks – and more! It is important to note that the site of Erasmus Darwin Academy has a strict no alcohol policy and this will also apply to Jubilee Fest.

They will be expanding their car parking arrangements for the evening, although they are encouraging families and students who live within walking distance from the school to consider other methods of transportation.

The event will be ticketed so that they can safely manage the anticipated numbers. There is a small cost attached, but it is being heavily subsidised thanks to the generosity of the National Lottery ‘Awards for All’ programme. It is however free for children and families of the schools linked with Primitas – so Holly Grove families do not have to pay!

You do have to book tickets BEFORE the event so that you get in free!

All attendees will be required to book a ticket through the website

 https://yourboxoffice.co.uk/erasmus-darwin-academy/800-jubilee-fest

select ‘MEMBER’ for the appropriate ticket.

Please be prepared to show your receipt upon arrival on the day.

Please also note that any purchases (from pupils’ stalls or refreshments outlets) will all need to be made as a cash purchase so please bring an appropriate amount of cash with you on the night.

Our school choir will be singing on the main stage, we are also taking part in the art competition and the poetry competition. So please do come along and support the school and children taking part.

Remember to book you tickets! If your child is one of those performing- you also need to book your ticket so you can see them and also collect them from the site.

Regards

Mrs. D. O’Hare
