Trip To Conkers
The Year 2 children went on a trip to 'Conkers' as part of their topic on 'Living Things and Variation'. It was a lovely day despite the heavy downpours. Read some of the children's memories of the day.
Kirsty
Firstly at Conkers Y2 met one of the staff who showed us how to do pond dipping. A few
minutes later we had a go on our own. I thought it was brill. I caught a water spider
and a water beetle. But the best thing I caught was the baby fish. It was transparent!
Brandon
The trip was exciting especially the pond dipping.
Matthew
We walked around the lake. We saw the ducks swimming to the island. The island was for
the ducks to have a rest on.
Callum
Afterwards we went to a sculpture area where there was lots of sand and logs with little
stones to hold the logs up. My groups tower was quite tall.
Alice
Afterwards we went to the Labyrinth. We were first to get out of the maze. There were
8 riddles.
Sam
As soon as we got out of the dizzy maze we went to the enchanted forest. It was awesome
because there were loads of tunnels and spiders webs. There was even a really, really
dark slide where you couldn't see anything when you went down it.
Grace
We were allowed to play in the Enchanted Forest. Lauren and me stuck together because
Lauren was scared at first, then she got into it. It was very, very, very funny and great.
Next it was lunchtime. I was starving.
Lauren
We went to Discovery and the amphitheatre where we had a rain storm. Then we investigated
woodland animals homes. We made our mud monsters. It was great.
Natalie
On the way back we looked under the logs on the logpile. We found lots of slugs but Sam
found a toad. It was gross. I found an ant......it was boring!
Libby
Soon after we went on the adventure playground. It was very good fun and I nearly fell
at the top of the spiders web.
Amy
The day was good and it was fun with my friends.
Mikey
At the end of the day we went on the bus. I had a sleep. When I woke up we were nearly there.
Finally home for tea and a good nights sleep!
