General Information
Mondays
Our day begins with settling in before register, the weather and the days activity is discussed. We then do our morning exercise. Every other week after the children have settled we will do our Forest School session. We will be outside in all weathers so please make sure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing. They learn lots of new skills such as using loppers, bow saws, fire flints. We have a lovely time and go out in all weathers. When we are not at forest school then the children will access the provision both indoors and outdoors whilst we have the opportunity to have a go at a Woodwork and a Fine Motor activity with a member of staff. Woodwork is a scheme of work that is carried out either on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis with an adult when tools are used. Woodwork introduces us to other skills such as hammering, sawing and screwing. During this session we monitor when we need our own snack and have access to the snack bar to develop our independence skills. Once the children have settled into nursery we will have a 'Listening Time' with Lola / Phonics session and mental maths. We end the day with story / rhymes or peer massage.

British Values
In Nursery we help promote British values. We celebrate a famous British Person in the first half term This year we have chose Julia Donaldson. Children are also taught about different communities and cultures, where we often celebrate festivals from around the world, such as Christmas, Chinese new year, pancake day, Easter etc. We have close links with the local community. As part of school, children in Nursery strive to show attributes to be chosen for the TORCH child of that week and take our Bee Buddy home for the weekend
